A Fantastic Evening With ICAEW Was Had By All

After much planning and eager anticipation, Curtis Recruitment attended the ICAEW Thames Valley Presidents’ Summer Celebration on Thursday 6th June as sponsors of the event.  The summer celebration followed the Newly Qualified Members’ Ceremony 2019 for the newly qualified ACA attendees.

Once the award ceremony finished, it was time to relax and enjoy some great music, courtesy of Purdy and her band, a splendid barbecue and a few drinks in the grounds of Grenville Court in Burnham, home of fellow sponsors, Eacotts Chartered Accountants.

You can check out Purdy and her band by clicking here.

It was good to meet up with people from ICAEW Thames Valley and also the Eacotts partners who sponsored the awards ceremony itself.  It was an excellent opportunity to make and renew acquaintances that we hope will be enduring to the benefit of all concerned in the future.

On our arrival, we were somewhat surprised to be met by parking attendants, who were in fact, two of Eacotts’ partners, which we found rather refreshing and it has to be said that they carried out their parking attendant duties with great efficiency and aplomb.

As a business, we had the opportunity to publicise Curtis Recruitment and we were able to give out some promotional gifts, which seemed to go down very well with everyone attending and even if we do say so ourselves, our table display of branded notebooks, pens, sweets and other materials looked rather splendid.  Our corporate presents were also included in the event gift bags along with materials and gifts from ICAEW and Eacotts.

The evening also included a raffle of donated prizes that raised a significant sum for a Reading based charity that offers support to patients with bladder cancer, a worthy cause, indeed.

All in all, the event went well, and it was also a fantastic opportunity to establish Curtis Recruitment as a major player within the practice recruitment sector.  Although Managing Director, Debbie Curtis has been working in recruitment for more years that she cares to remember, Curtis Recruitment is a fairly new business, having been established in July 2015.

As we approach our fourth birthday, the business is moving into a new and exciting phase in the company’s history with plans in the pipeline and with this prestigious ICAEW event behind us, we feel able to confidently go from strength to strength in the coming years.

We would like to thank ICAEW Thames Valley and Eacotts Chartered Accountants for inviting us to sponsor this event and for the  potential opportunities that may arise in the future as a result.

As part of our sponsorship, we were able to take some guests and because of his positive influence in Debbie’s professional life, we invited her dad, Peter.  He is pictured below having a bite to eat with Jeffrey from Eacotts.

Curtis Recruitment had a mention in the spring issue of the ICAEW magazine, Chartam ahead of the event and that can be viewed here and we will also be having an appearance in the next issue too.
