Curtis Recruitment at Accountex 2020

Last year we attended Accountex as visitors and were somewhat overwhelmed by its scale. After our visit, it became apparent that this is an extremely beneficial event for exhibitors and visitors alike, which is why, as an accountancy recruitment agency, the decision was made (with an equal measure of excitement and trepidation) to take the plunge and commit to exhibit this year.
This is a great networking opportunity because visitors get the chance to meet the teams of over 200 leading suppliers, mingle with over 9,000 accountancy and related professionals, meet up with old friends and colleagues, meet new people and gain eight CPD hours for attending.
We’re keen to exhibit because of the prospect of introducing ourselves to people, whom we may otherwise never meet; whether making new acquaintances or putting a face to a name of those previously only spoken to on the phone or by email.
Raising Our Profile
As some of you may be aware, Curtis Recruitment has appeared within the pages of the last three issues of Chartam, the Thames Valley ICAEW magazine and we will be appearing there again in the spring issue. Because we recruit for accountancy practice roles, advertising in Chartam is an obvious choice for us and we feel it beneficial to have an editorial along with the advert to promote our services to an appropriate audience.
The winter issue of Chartam featured some of our testimonials and there have been more positive reviews since, so we must be doing something right! Along with having placed some great candidates into fantastic firms since the last issue, Curtis Recruitment has attracted the attention of some high-ranking accountancy practices, including big 4 and we are actively working on their vacancies.
As usual, the flow of strong practice candidates is extremely tight with a profound shortage of suitable candidates at all levels. In the lead up to the general election in December and the uncertainty over Brexit, people were sitting tight and not applying for roles. Fortunately, to some extent, this is now easing.
